Inspired by the nature printing intaglio technique invented in 1851 by Dr. Franz Leydolt in Vienna. The Agate is etched with Hydrochloric Acid and put in an electrically charged bath to create a copper printing plate that is used to create an image of impeccable exactitude. This 19th century technique was also used on meteorites, bats, snakes, fossils, flies, lace, flowers, and leaves.
